Thank you for joining me for another year of the Christmas Music Advent!
Whether this is your third year or your first, I’m grateful you’re here to celebrate the season with me. As always, previous years' calendars and playlists are still available on 2022 and 2023 tabs, so feel free to revisit for additional inspiration and music.
This year, I’m excited to introduce a new theme: Titles of Christ. Each day in December will highlight one of the many sacred titles and names of Jesus Christ, drawn from scripture and inspired resources. Accompanying these titles are Christmas hymns and different selected music that magnifies His divinity and mission. While most of the music will honor tradition, I’ve also included a few unique arrangements to keep the spirit of discovery alive.
The purpose of this project remains the same: to bring joy, peace, and faith into your Christmas season. As we reflect on the titles of our Savior, such as Wonderful Counsellor, Lamb of God, and Prince of Peace, I hope this Advent Calendar will deepen your understanding of who He is and what He offers to each of us.
Links to scriptures and study helps are included to support your study of Christ and strengthen your relationship with Him. Let us ALL draw closer to Him and truly know Him.
Together, let us rejoice and praise Him who is the light and life of the world.
Thank you for celebrating with me this year. May this Advent help you draw closer to Jesus Christ, whose names and titles teach us of His infinite love and sacrifice for each of us.
Thank you again for following along!
Sincerely,

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrew 12:2
"I testify that the Savior is 'the author and finisher of our faith.' Will you invite Him to be the author and finisher of your story? He knows the beginning from the end. He was the Creator of heaven and earth. He wants us to return home to Him and our Heavenly Father. He has everything invested in us and wants us to succeed. What do you suppose keeps us from turning our stories over to Him? ...we will be judged by our book of life. We can choose to write a comfortable narrative for ourselves. Or we can allow the Master Author and Finisher to write our story with us, letting the role He needs us to play take precedence over other ambitions. Let Christ be the author and finisher of your story!" - Camille N. Johnson, October 2021, Invite Christ to Author Your Story

"Teach them that redemption cometh through Christ the Lord, who is the very Eternal Father." - Mosiah 16:15
"And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou are the Christ, the Son of the living God." - Matthew 16:16
"We bear testimony, as His duly ordained Apostles—that Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son." From The Living Christ, January 2000

He took it up again and became the firstfruits of them that slept. He, as King of Kings, stands triumphant above all other kings. He, as the Omnipotent One, stands above all rulers. He is our comfort, our only true comfort, when the dark shroud of earthly night closes about us as the spirit departs the human form...He is our King, our Lord, our Master, the living Christ, who stands on the right hand of His Father. He lives! He lives, resplendent and wonderful, the living Son of the living God." - Gordon B. Hinckley, This Glorious Easter Morn, April 1996
Thanks, dad, for sending me this. Never had heard this song, and I have felt this song and its lyrics all month. "The Prince of Peace, The King of Kings born in a manger Far away Seems a little closer today"

Nelson, December 2013, Jesus Christ—Our Prince of Peace

"He was not an architect, nor a contractor, nor a builder. He was only a Galilean carpenter; maker of wooden plows and oxen yokes. But He inspired the noblest, most marvelous architecture known to man. He Himself specialized in character engineering, to make men, human masterpieces. He took a Peter and made a Saint. He took a Saul and made a Paul. And He took you and me and He will make of us gods if we will comply and follow along. What a picture! So terrible and yet so sublime. So awesome and yet so grand. So painful and yet so productive." - Spencer W. Kimball from The Teaching of Spencer W. Kimball (see also "The Master Builder" in the Deseret News, July 24, 1993)

"For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith." - 2 Nephi 27:23
"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased because Christ hath ascended into heaven, and hath sat down on the right hand of God, to claim of the Father his rights of mercy which he hath upon the children of men?
For he hath answered the ends of the law, and he claimeth all those who have faith in him; and they who have faith in him will cleave unto every good thing; wherefore he advocateth the cause of the children of men; and he dwelleth eternally in the heavens.
And because he hath done this, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased? Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither have angels ceased to minister unto the children of men." - Moroni 7: 27-29
"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." - John 8:58

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." - John 15:7, 11-14
"Our most prized friend is Jesus Christ Himself. Is there any greater assurance than His 'I will be on your right hand and on your left, … and mine angels round about you, to bear you up' (D&C 84:88)?" - Ronald A. Rasband, October 2016 from True Friendship
Thank you for following along with this music advent calendar and titles of Christ this December! I am so grateful for everyone who joined me with this Advent Calendar. I love my savior, and I am trying my best everyday to be more like him. Boy, do I have a lot of work. I'm grateful to have Him as a friend. I know he will never leave me, and that I am His. Where would I be without him?
Love,
Dayton
