(Dayton's brother)
“The Manger of Bethlehem” — I sang this song my senior year of high school at Wasatch in Mr. Reynolds’s class. I pretended I was too cool for choir 90% of the time, but it’s one of my most cherished memories from high school. We sang this for Christmas, and I listen to it every year! It really brought the feeling of Christmas. It was also a really fun way for my mom and me to connect — beautiful Christmas music. This was one of the many songs we’d listen to strictly because it brought so much happiness to both of us.
“Joseph’s Lullaby” — this song reminds me of my two brothers, Dayton and Landen. They sang this one year, and again, I pretended I wasn’t a fan, but I could listen to them sing it over and over again. They both impacted me a ton throughout the years, and their love of music — and the fact that they could both really sing — was the coolest party trick.
Fast forward to me and my friend Sydney Quinton performing it in the seminary Christmas special. At the beginning, she had her papers mixed up, so we had to start over. During the second attempt, my papers were mixed up...so third time's the charm! Eventually we figured it out — and crushed it. This song brings back so many fun memories and embodies the meaning of Christmas. It reminds me of my family and the incredible friends I had.
