I have always enjoyed listening to “Breath of Heaven” growing up, but it wasn’t until I was older and really listened to the words that I began to understand the song. It’s intimidating and scary to become a mother, but for Mary, I can’t imagine the task she was asked to take on. The lyrics, “Do you wonder as you watch my face if a wiser one should have had my place?” — how often do we feel those same feelings during a trial in our own lives? Thinking we aren’t strong enough or questioning if we are brave enough to follow through with what the Lord has asked us to do.
What confidence our Heavenly Father must have had in Mary to become the mother of our Savior. Trust that He knows exactly what you need to grow and learn. He knows us better than anyone else—so trust Him.

I like the hymn “Silent Night” because it brings a peaceful, calm feeling every time I hear it. The melody is simple but powerful, and the words remind me of the sacredness of Christ’s birth. It makes me think about that quiet, holy night and helps me feel closer to the true spirit of Christmas. There’s something about it that always brings a sense of warmth and reverence, no matter where or when I hear it.
