The song “Adore” brings to mind what it could have been like to be one of the angels heralding the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Luke tells us of a multitude of the heavenly host praising and glorifying God on a night that seems so long ago. But was it?
This song makes me think of that moment, and how possible it is that many of us were there—praising Him in song at His birth, adoring Him. As the song states, “Let all that is within us, adore.”
The thought of potentially being with Jesus at the time of His birth brings a unique level of gushing gratitude and love for my Friend and Lord.
Joe Hunt:
The song “Baby Boy” tells a short story of the world’s emotions before the birth of Christ:
"Oh, before that silent night.
No Savior and no Jesus Christ.
The world cried out so desperately.
And a baby boy was the reply.
Yes, heaven’s reply was a baby boy.”
Prophets had testified of a Savior who would be born. And it was His promised birth that served as the world’s fuel source to keep going until the prophecy could be fulfilled. But how much longer could the world wait? It couldn’t.
That baby boy, Jesus, came into the world at the exact moment in time when all creation needed Him most. He was born in the very moment that fulfilled the will of the Father. When that baby boy was born, the war was finally won—on our behalf—by a baby boy who grew into our Christ.
